The common alternative remedies may include honeysuckle flower, Chinese medicine herbs, marshmallow root, licorice root, sage and slippery elm.
While using alternative medicine, it is important to prevent the sore throat. Bacteria and virus which cause the infection is contagious so you have to try your best to prevent it by following good hygiene practice. Wash your hands well and often after coughing or sneezing, before eating or after you use the toilet. You should not share utensils, drinking glasses or foods. You should use hand sanitizers and wash your hands using water. You should avoid touching the public phone or other common places.
